Ethereum Foundation- The power of decentralization-   If you want to be a part of the global world today (making digital transactions, having a digital identity, creating digital content), you need to hand over your rights and control to a centralized third party. Basically, you need to make a contract with a centralized entity such as your government, your bank, the credit card company, Facebook, Paypal, etc. who all in turn own your information. Simply put, the power of owning your own information and digital identity has been taken out of your hands.   In the real world, you have your passport to validate your identity. Imagine if you had something like that to validate your digital identity and information.Ethereum provides it for you. It is a world-changing, trust-building technology, which represents nothing less than the second generation of the internet. Ethereum holds the potential to transform money, business, government and society, by making it possible to verify digital information, identify and ownership. Ethereum is a decentralized on-line platform that enables development of smart applications that run exactly as programmed - without any chance of fraud, censorship or third-party interference. Until recently, building blockchain applications required a complex background in coding, cryptography, mathematics as well as significant resources. But the Ethereum platform has changed this. Previously unimagined applications, from electronic voting & digitally recorded property assets to regulatory compliance & trading are now actively being developed and deployed faster than ever before. This is made possible because the Ethereum platform provides developers with the tools, custom build blockchains and even networks to build decentralized applications. The Ethereum project and platform is developed by a worldwide team of passionate developers for the Ethereum Foundation, a Swiss nonprofit organization. The Ethereum Foundation’s mission is to promote and support research, development and education to bring decentralized protocols and tools to the world that empower developers to produce next generation decentralized applications (dapps), and together build a more globally accessible, more free and more trustworthy Internet. Ethereum does not only use interface, app, graphic, software and user interface design, but a systemic design approach to how centralization of information can be disrupted and how everyone online can play a part in creating an unstoppable, censorship-resistant, self-sustaining, decentralized network Many of the centralized systems we use today could be built in a decentralized manner on the Ethereum platform. For identity cases, Ethereum allows you be in full control of your data. There is no centralized server that has access to your private data, can get hacked, edit your information, or get shut down. For medical records, only the patient and the doctor have the keys to the patient’s specific record - and can decide to share this information with a hospital if this serves a (higher) purpose. For storage, all the spare computing power and storage a regular person might have on their computer could be made available to someone else – just like renting out a spare bedroom on Airbnb. Ethereum is a tool designed for the community, which means that everybody needs to get involved and informed in order for this system to reach its full potential of bringing the power back to the users. What the internet did for information, Ethereum could do for law, governance, finance, trade and social organization.
