DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILM
The documentary Enough White Teacups is about sustainability, the wicked problems that plague the world and how design and invention can be used as an antidote. Enough White Teacups highlights the Danish non-profit, INDEX: Design to Improve Life ® (INDEX) and the film explores their history as an international design competition and showcases the most innovative INDEX award winners and highlights their future goals. INDEX believes that designs/inventions can be used to develop sustainable solutions for global and local challenges. Enough White Teacups asks the viewer to think of the word “design” as a verb and to think of the word “design” in a Scandinavian context… as a way to create an intended result such as this invention was designed to reduce plastic pollution in the ocean.

INDEX: DESIGN TO IMPROVE LIFE
The winners of the world’s biggest sustainable design prize, the INDEX: Award, were revealed in Denmark on September 1, 2017 and the €500,000 prize fund was shared by five designers/design teams from all over the world. Thus, countries like Russia, Rwanda, Switzerland, and The United States were represented among the winners.
”The winners picked by our international jury this year are very exciting”, says Kigge Hvid, CEO of the Danish non-profit behind the award, INDEX: Design to Improve Life®.
”Our winners range from the most cutting-edge digital technology, Ethereum, to the simplest solution made from string, carboard and a button, Paperfuge. The remaining winners – a sustainable and restorable fish farming platform, a worldwide addressing system for the underserved, and a drone delivering blood and medicine to remote areas – emphasize the diversity within the world’s best ’design to improve life’”, says Kigge Hvid
